Preventing Harassment in Our Recruiting Process
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Peatix (Peatix Inc. and its group companies, including Peatix Japan K.K.) wants every candidate, intern and participant in our recruiting or work-experience activities (“candidates”) to take part in our selection process with confidence. In line with Japan’s amended Equal Employment Opportunity Act (effective October 1, 2026) and our group-wide anti-harassment policy, here are our commitments, the rules our employees follow, and how to reach us if something goes wrong.
1. Our policy
Peatix prohibits sexual harassment and any other harassment of candidates by our officers and employees, including intimidating or demeaning conduct in interviews. Employees who engage in such conduct are dealt with strictly under our internal rules.
2. Rules for recruiting interactions
Our employees follow these rules when meeting or contacting candidates:
- Interviews and other recruiting meetings take place at our offices, at appropriate business venues, or online using Peatix’s designated video-conference tools, and as a rule during ordinary business hours. We do not hold recruiting meetings at an employee’s home, at bars, or in private rooms at restaurants, hotels or similar venues.
- Interviews are conducted by, or with the knowledge of, our People & Culture Department.
- We contact candidates only through official Peatix channels, such as Peatix email addresses and our applicant-tracking system. Our employees will not contact you from personal social media accounts or personal messaging apps, will not ask for your private contact details, and will not use your contact information beyond what the selection process requires.
- Our communications with candidates are limited to matters relating to the recruiting process.
If you are contacted or treated in a way that does not follow these rules, please tell us.
3. Where to report
If you experience conduct that you believe may be harassment from a Peatix employee (or from a Peatix customer or business partner) in connection with our recruiting activities or an internship, please contact either of the following. If you would prefer not to contact someone involved in your selection process, contact the Legal & Compliance Department.
- People & Culture Department: teamhr@peatix.com
- Legal & Compliance Department: legal@peatix.com
You may also consult your university’s career center or, in Japan, the Employment Environment and Equal Employment Department of the prefectural Labour Bureau.
4. How we handle reports
We will promptly confirm the facts and take appropriate measures. Your name, the content of your report and any personal information will be kept confidential to the extent consistent with a fair investigation and shared only with those handling the matter. Making a report in good faith will never count against you in our selection process.
